Rich purple and luminous green give Purple Kelp a dramatic underwater quality, inspired by kelp, sea plants and jewel-like pools of colour beneath the surface.

Handcrafted from polymer clay and enhanced with mica powders, the deeply textured surface is filled with raised and recessed circular details that catch the light beautifully. Greens shimmer against the purple background, creating changing highlights as the earrings move.

Each pair is individually made by hand, so the placement and intensity of the colours will naturally vary, making every pair unique.

Lightweight despite their statement size, Purple Kelp earrings have a 40 mm polymer clay drop, excluding the ear wire, and are finished with silver-tone ear wires.

Artist’s Note
Purple Kelp was inspired by the unexpected flashes of colour found along the shoreline — deep purples, vivid greens and the glimmer of wet sea plants caught by the light. I wanted the surface to feel almost alive, with little pools of colour appearing to rise from within the clay.
